Typically one of the factors driving high costs and a cause of considerable frustration for corrosion engineers is the necessity to determine the presence of Sulfate-Reducing Bacteria (SRB).

Detection of oil & fuel spillages are of paramount importance - not only for the environment but also for the petrochemical industry.  Spillages are costly and the aim is for products to make it through the manufacturing process, not go down the drain.
