Sulphate Reducing Bacteria (SRB) Detection
QuickChek SRB Detection System
The QuickChek SRB Detection System is a rapid enzyme immunoassay method that detects Sulphate Reducing Bacteria (SRB). The test employs purified antibodies to detect the enzyme adenosine-5-phosphosulfonate (APS) reductase which is common to all strains of SRB.
The QuickChek SRB kits offer several advantages over cell culture techniques for SRB detection including immediate and accurate results. The kit allows testing of liquid, solid and semi-solid samples, and detects all SRB's, including SRB that is unable to grow in some standard media. The test results are not compromised by chemical or salinity interferences that are often found in field samples.
The test kit is completely self-contained and disposable. Each kit includes all necessary materials to detect and enumerate SRB's. There is no need for pretreatment or dilution of samples and there are no special hazardous waste disposal limitations. Test kits are available in 10 pack and 100 economy pack sizes.
Results are available in 8-10 minutes.

Multiparameter Portable Fluorometers
Modern Water's portable fluorometer range includes the AlgaeChek, AlgaeChek Ultra, BODChek and PetroChek.
The AlgaeChek fluorometer is a single parameter instrument while the AlgaeChek Ultra is a multiple parameteter portable fluorometer. These instruments provide a cost-effective solution to monitor the effects of organic pollution, identify potentially harmful cyanobacteria and turbidity. The AlgaeChek Ultra can be configured to detect up to three parameters. Modern Water's BODChek enables in-situ, real-time monitoring of Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD) within both natural water systems and water processing plants. The monitor detects fluoroscent proteins that are inherent within sewage and slurry and provides an output in BOD equivalent units. The PetroChek instrument enables in-situ, real-time monitoring of crude and refined hydrocarbons with both fresh and marine water systems. The monitor detects fluorescent poly aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in crude oil and refined fuels and lubricants. The specific compounds that we can detect by our fluorometer product range are identified in the table below. |

Modern Water Quality Test Kits
Modern Water has a wide variety of test kits which include the following product ranges: EnSys; EnviroGard®; RaPID Assay® and QuickChek.
The Ensys range are rapid field or laboratory colorimetric tests for the analysis of explosives in soil. The kits are based on a method developed by Dr. Thomas Jenkins at US Army Corps of Engineers - CRREL. The RaPID Assay® range is a rapid field or laboratory enzyme immunoassay method for the analysis of soil and water for remediation, assessment and industrial testing. It uses an antibody coated magnetic particle technology to detect the analyte of concern. The method can be used to test for analytes such as pesticides, petroleums, PCB's and PCP. EnviroGard® is a rapid field or laboratory immunoassay method for the analysis of soil and/or water for remediation assessment, and industrial testing. It uses an antobody coated test tube or plate technology to detect the analyte of concern. The method can be used to test for analytes such as pesticides, Microcystins and PCBs. The QuickChek SRB detection system is a rapid enzyme immunoassay method that detects sulphate reducing bacterial (SRB). The test employs purified antibodies to detect the enzyme adenosine-5'-phosphosulfonate (APS) reductase which is common to strains of SRB. The specific compounds that we can detect by our test kit product range are identified in the table below. |

Online VOC & THM Monitoring Systems
The Modern Water Multisensor range includes the Multisensor1100, the Multisensor1200 and the Multisensor2000.
The Multisensor1100 is a VOC and oil in water event monitor whilst the Multisensor1200 is a VOC and oil in water concetration monitor. Both models are designed for clean and wastewater monitoring applications. They use a non-contact and reagent-less measurement technique, sensing headspace gases or volatiles in a sample tank and provides a measurement system with very low maintenance requirements. The Multisensor2000 is a total Trihalomethanes (THMs) monitor system designed for potable water applications. It provides on-line, real-time monitoring and alarm generation without the need for additional chemical reagents. There is no contact between the sensor and the water and virtually no moving parts, eliminating the need for frequent maintenance. The specific compounds that we can detect by our Multisensor product range are identified in the table below. |

QuickChek™ Immunoassay Analyzer
Modern Water’s QuickChek™ Reader is used in combination with a number of specific immunoassay strip (lateral flow) tests.
Typically these tests are either compared to a relevant colour chart or provide indicative markings for a semi quantitative resultrange. With the Reader, operator subjectivity is removed and a more accurate result with lower detection levels is achievable. Modern Water’s QuickChek™ Reader is a portable, robust and automated flow reading device. It is an extremely flexibledevice, capable of performing qualitative and quantitative assays. With one push of a button the assay will be analysed withinseconds and results can then be stored within the device for download or printing. |
